     On some north America's car, calibration by tool is  necessary , but DS708 does not this function.
    MaxiSys has it or will have?

     I don't know what you mean by calibration by tool but  if you mean flashing this can only be done with the maxisys pro it is mostly used on american cars when replacing a ecm/pcm  on gm and ford since vin number can only be change this way or when directed by a service bulletin for a software improvement or correction this will be for all vehicle makes you can also do this with a j2534 passthru devise and a sub with the dealer  on the american cars chrysler is the only make you can change vin without having to flash a pcm assuming there is software in it, the maxisys 908 pro is doing gm powertrain at the moment  chrysler and ford will be added later along with the rest of the vehicles on the market  hopefully i answer your question  good luck.
